We arrived in Rome at 9:30 am local time to beautiful weather- sunny, high 70s, with a nice breeze. We grabbed a cab to our home for the next few days, Hotel Ludovisi, a short walk to the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, the Trevi Fountain, and much more Central Rome hustle and bustle. We quickly checked in and showered and ventured out to explore this amazing city, despite feeling the jet lag creeping up on us. At well after midnight SF time, we were officially past our bedtime. We took a long walk for several hours, stopping in for some pizza and beer at a quintessential red and white tablecloth establishment on a cobblestone alley. With the fatigue, I was starting to get my cranky on and my first (of many I'm sure) cafe dopio didn't help. Within an hour, I'd devolved into a whiney 5-year old with very sore feet, so we went back to the hotel for an afternoon cat nap, which turned into 6 hours of hard sleep. Woops.
Anyway, here are some pics we snapped that afternoon.
